Buried - Buried (Rodrigo Cortes - 2010)

'Buried' is a film directed by Rodrigo Cortes and came out in Italian cinemas October 15, 2010.
The film, which has aroused great interest from the Sundance Festival, follows a simple plot, but linear and effective impact.
Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) is an American truck driver for a private company that comes with his colleagues in Iraq, hoping to have finally found a good job to better support his family. Unfortunately, these will be ambushed by a group of terrorists who exchange them for soldiers. So while his other colleagues are almost all killed, Paul will be buried three feet underground in a wooden box with a zippo available, a pencil and a cell phone. These three instruments will be his only lifeline to be able to communicate with the outside world and to have a minimum illumination in what appears to be 'the end of his days'.
'Buried' is a film that could inspire, who had not yet had a way of seeing it, skepticism and a desire to prefer a man buried in some remote desert region of Iraq another film with more players. What a terrible mistake. In just ninety minutes and masterly interpretation by the only actor (the exceptional and intense Ryan Reynolds) the director Rodrigo Cortes is able to keep up the tension of the spectator in a game made by moments of stasis, accelerated to the nth moments of tension and desire to help the protagonist, with a 'self-identification of the viewer so intensely on the skin to try his own emotions and suffering in the moments of greatest excitement. The clear political message of the film is clear (that the government would prefer to maintain the confidentiality of these matters rather than help those poor hostages), although what most catches the eye and what is more alarming is that despite the main character is facilitated by possession of a cell, it appears instead to be a huge deterrent and a device that does nothing but highlight the enormous lack of communication these days, despite all the means at our disposal. Moreover it is clear (also bitterly) that in times of need, all (or almost) sit back and as usual you should try to help themselves to avoid suffering the worse or better yet not to die (in the case of Paul).
last bitter but truthful observation that emerges from the film is that the life of a human being, nowadays, is worth little or nothing compared to large corporations, governments and all'incolumità of certain persons who are the 'plans high '. Then, along with Ryan Reynolds, are also buried all of us ordinary beings, but ready for suffering and do everything possible to be able to go beyond situations tricky or better yet seemingly no way out.
In conclusion, for those who have not yet had a way of seeing it, I suggest the vision of 'Buried' because it will face the classic film formulaic and predictable. For those who want and desire to discover (at bottom) a painting of modern society, come in as well. The 'burial' is about to begin.
